So buzy! Very exciting news. June 17th I'll be playing along side Zedd and Savoy at Webster Hall! Here's the facebook jumpoff
Coincidentally, I'll be releasing my new track Necronomikz on that same date. Here is a preview of the track:
If you can't wait that long - just tweet about the Webster hall show and mention me and BOOM I'll send you over the track.
See you soon!
Hey everyone I wanted let you guys know that tomorrow is the annual Walk for Multiple Sclerosis and I want to invite you all. It's a really great time for a really great cause and the weather is going to be beautiful all weekend! I've been walking for the past 4 years with my sister who was diagnosed with M.S. in 2007. Every year we create a team and I thought it'd be great to see all of you there with us.
The walk is put on by the National M.S. Society who has making huge strides towards a cure. If you'd like to join us or donate to our team here is a link
My personal fund raising goal is $350 which may seem small but that can provide 4 rehabilitation sessions for someone living with M.S. Every little bit makes a huge difference.
I hope I get to see you all there, it's going to be a great day! Thanks for all your support!
In my off time I use the interwebz - looking for cool things - and when I find something pertaining the my favorite band, The Beatles, I usually share it. Thanks to Harmonix - the guys that make Rock Band - it's now really simple to listen to isolated tracks from Beatles tunes. Also there's this guy that separates the track in Reaper. Probably by doing some reverse phasing with the stereo mixed version but thats just my guess. Given that they were probably the most innovative band in terms of a studio production, one can learn a ton by listening to isolated tracks.
Not many people know that the gear they used was years behind other studios due to EMI's strict policy on disassembling any equipment before they can use it. EMI may have been in possession of the latest technology but while other studios were using it - they were dissecting and studying it leaving The Beatles with yesterday's tools. Now put four of the most musically creative minds in one room coupled with one of the worlds greatest producers and a motivated mixing engineer and what would seem to be a disadvantage is now and opportunity to make some of the greatest songs put to tape.
Here are some isolated bass tracks from the songs that contain my favorite Paul bass lines. He is the Supreme Chancellor of Bass Techtonics. Enjoy.
People sleep on Lovely Rita - for this session Paul, The Supreme Chancellor, asked Geoff Emerick how he can get more of a motown sounding bass - since all of those records had HUGE bass sounds. So what did they do? Took the 15 inch woofer from Paul's Vox bass amp reversed the polarity essentially creating a 15 inch mic that only picks up the low to low mid frequencies that it would normally put out, put that up against another bass amp, then doubled it. Supreme. Chancellor.
Another song people sleep on, bass-wise. The Supreme Chancellor goes wild in the verse after the Mid-8. This also includes Ringo's drums - if you listen closely you hear the tape cuts. Also the compression on these drums is beautiful.
